United is entering a new season of its life as a congregation. Green shoots are emerging as we worship, pray, learn and serve together. The Holy Spirit is renewing our energy to make Christ known and to be his hands and heart in the South End of Tacoma
To respond to the Spirit’s prompting we need more than a half-time Pastor to lead and serve our congregation in this new season. United’s leaders believe that, with prayer and courage, we could support a three-quarter time pastoral position. One important step towards making this a reality is to reduce our monthly mortgage payment.
The equation is simple. Less Mortgage = More Pastor!
Opportunities to contribute:
Over the next few weeks, members and friends of United Lutheran will be asked to consider a 1-time special gift to go toward reducing our mortgage. These gifts may be given by check or through our online platform. They should be marked “mortgage reduction”.
With these gifts we will make a lump-sum payment towards the principle which will reduce our monthly mortgage payment. The savings will be dedicated to an increased pastoral position.
The fundraiser will wrap up on Sunday, September 13th. Please submit all gifts before this date so the total can be announced as part of our Coffee Hour celebration!
